you are applying to be a teaching assistant as part of your graduate (post-graduate) programme at a US university

you are applying for university entrance or professional licensure in New Zealand

you are applying to government agencies, or licensing/certification agencies or for scholarship programs, where TOEFL
scores are used to evaluate English proficiency

Where can I take the test?
The computer based testing is available on a continuous basis in most parts of the world. The Paper based testing
is available on specific dates in certain locations. You need to find out the dates in the places where you want to take the
test.
The New Generation Internet based test (iBT) is to be introduced in the United
States on September 24, 2005. On October 22, the TOEFL iBT test will begin in Canada, France, Germany and Italy. The test will be
introduced in the rest of the world in 2006.
Procedure
Download an information and registration form from the TOEFL website.
Register for the test online or offline.
You can register online with a valid credit card.
Obtain the free study guide TOEFL provides for those who register.
Obtain other books and products to practice.
Take the test.
