Do's and Don'ts for Acne Prone People


Drink at least 2 litres of water per day. It will detoxify the body.

Wash your face gently, twice a day. Avoid over washing as it will make the face dry and you may feel a burning sensation.

Wash with a mild soap one that contains benzoyl peroxide, such as Oxy-5.

Rinse well with warm water.

Pat dry with clean face towels.

Do not scrub with a washcloth.

Do not use harsh high PH soaps.

Do not use abrasive cleansers.

Don’t pick, pop or squeeze, or otherwise mess with your skin and with your pimp[les. It will scar your face. Leave the acne alone and keep your hand off your face.
 
Wash your pillowcase often. Keeping things clean is important not to harbour bacteria that can make acne worse.

Shampoo the hair regularly. 
 
Avoid use of make-up or cosmetics in areas prone to acne. If you have to wear make-up, use only the hypoallergenic or fragrance free kind.
 
Tie up your hair and do not allow it fall on your face and shoulder when you sleep.

Shower after work to keep dirt and bacteria away.

Wash off make up before going to bed.

Use clean cosmetic brushes. Wash them regularly in soapy water. Throw out old, contaminated makeup.

A regular exercise can keep you healthy, reduce stress and increase blood circulation and oxygen penetration to the skin. It may help in preventing acne.

Avoid kelp, a seaweed. It can cause severe cystic acne.

It is better to avoid iodized salt. it provokes an acne flare up.

Avoid steroids,iodine preparations,lithium, anti convulsants adn other hormonal agents.
