Before your Eye Surgery

Here are some tips to help you prepare for the surgery :

Stop wearing contact lenses 3-4 weeks before check up. Contact lenses change the shape of your cornea and so may cause inaccurate measurements and a poor surgical plan.

Go for a check up  to find out if you are a good candidate for the type of surgery you have decided on. This also helps the doctor to estimate the amount of corneal tissue to be removed or the steps to be taken.

Go for a second check up after a week to confirm that the measurements have not changed. This is necessary especially if you wear RGP or hard lenses.

Stop wearing eye make up a day before surgery. These products as well as debris along the eyelashes may increase the risk of infection during and after surgery.
